The Friday Pistol Clinic was our first Pistol event in Laramie in 2021. The Laramie Rifle Range is an incredible facility and is one of the best supporters of Project Appleseed in Wyoming. A special thanks to Appleseeder RegularGuy and range liason Rick, who made the event a success!

We did manage to get seven shooters on the line with two eventually earning their Pistoleer™ patch! All the shooters made fantastic progress throughout the day in what can be a fast-paced course of instruction. All of our participants (and instructors) had some driving to attend this event. Bill and Lisa came all the way from Las Cruces and earned the claim of furthest travel to the event. We had our Colorado/Wyoming transplant shooter down from Casper, while Senior Instructor M1Bzrk and Shoot Boss Ridge Walker drove over from western Wyoming. The other participants all drove up from Colorado.

After a morning of pistol handling, safety and marksmanship instruction we gathered together for lunch and a little history. Ridge Walker told us the story of the Three Strikes of April 19th, 1775. We learned about people who made enormous sacrifices to preserve their rights and win our liberty.

When we were done with lunch it was time to start the challenge of shooting the Pistol Qualification Test or PQT. Ray and Flux both shot a qualifying score on the first PQT! Ray has been chasing both a rifle and a pistol patch over the course of attending several Appleseeds, but his persistence finally paid off when he earned his Pistoleer™. Great job and way to persist! Appleseed Red Hat, Flux, also shot to earn his patch and complete one more step toward becoming Colorado's third pistol instructor! Nice work!  Bill took the line and is pretty competent behind his pistol but claimed he still found the course a worthy challenge while Lisa, a newer pistol shooter, made great strides in safe pistol handling and marksmanship. Jason and Cory made the trip up from Boulder for their second Appleseed and first pistol event so now they are squarely in the hunt for both Rifle and Pistol patches. I hope to be their when they earn those patches!

Sunny and hot on the high plains!

Our Appleseed Instructor, Flux, came up from Colorado to qualify pistol. And so that's what he did! He also made the classic blunder of accepting Ray's offer to shoot one of his super custom pistols. Expensive mistake! :) Here's a picture of Flux receiving a "Liberty - Don't Tread On Me" challenge coin for winning the afternoon "challenge". Nice work!

A few things to catch up on. First, another great clinic as they always are. The shotgun I was trying to remember was the Langdon Tactical 1301 which starts as a stock Beretta 1301, already a great gun made even better. The competition shooter that's name slipped my mind was Ron Avery, who passed in February of 2019. Watch some of his videos on Youtube.

As usual: a real blast!  Congratulations to Ray and Flux on qualifying as Pistoleer™s!  Thanks to all who came from out-of-state, notably Flux, Captain, without whom it would have been a non-event; Lisa and Bill from Las Cruces and Cory and Jason from Colo.
Thanks to Ridge Walker who worked for 20 days straight before the event.  It pleases me no end that we now have a qualified, active PPC Instructor in Wyoming.  Thanks to Jacob and Rick for their behind the scene help, and to LRRC for hosting us once again!
Thank you, Patriots all,
LIBERTAS!
