Does Massachusetts have a active Appleseed chapter? All the messages look a couple of years old.

Hi, I am signed up for my first AS at Harvard, MA Apr 17.  I have a CZ 512 (.22lr) that I am considering using.  It has a manual breech-open control (not a last-shot lock back). But the safety cannot be engaged when it is open.  Is this acceptable?  If not, I also have a Rem 597 that I could use.  Or I can bring both.  Thanks!

Either should be fine, but if I were you I would bring both in case one of the rifles is giving you problems.

I definitely second the recommendation to bring both.  There will not be an issue with the CZ 512 safety - it's a common pattern for many bolt rifles too.
You can never be too rich, too good looking, or too well armed.
