Yep!  We need more instructors and SBs.

This afternoon Sally and I drove from Corpus Christi to Port Lavaca, about 100 miles North of CC on State Hwy 35.  We met my old friend Mike Walker and drove to the Bay Gun Club Shooting Range; 25 yd pistol and rimfire, and KD of 50, 100, and 200 yd.  With modification of firing line location I believe the KD could accommodate 400 yd.

Mike and his wife treated us to seafood at a local establishment.  Really great! And, as I am on a seefood diet, just perfect.  (What's a seafood diet?  I see food and I eat it!)  ^-^  **)

The Bay Gun Club meeting was the important part of the evening.  I presented Appleseed Project to approximately 50 members and got a couple of positive comments.  After the meeting Sally, Mike, and I talked Appleseed to individuals. 

Bottom line is South Texas now has two Appleseed Ranges.  The BGC wants to bring Appleseed in to Port Lavaca.  O0 We did not talk specific dates, but, those discussions will happen soon.  We potentially can start Appleseed in April with enough instructors.  Suggest some other weekend other than April 19.

More on this next week.

For now, all of  you all over the USA pat yourself on the back for this one.  Everytime you talk about AS there is now a ripple effect.  You may never know where or how, but, the Appleseed in Monroe WA or Ramseur makes a ripple that reveals itself somewhere across the country.  we all know and have friends in other states and these contacts hear of AS through us.  Then when they hear a presentation such as the one this evening, they think "yeah i have heard about AS, tell me more!"  Such was the case tonight.

So,  O0 O0 O0 O0 for the Bay Gun Club, Port Lavaca, TX.

Good work!

By the way, any date that works for the club, works or Appleseed.  Don't worry about the Instructors, there are hundreds of them around the nation, so that is not a problem.

Book many dates, and get with Scout on the "paper work" needed.

     Absolutely. A quirk of human nature, to be sure, but an important quirk, nonetheless. We are gradually "breaking the ice" with people about this program, and there's a lot less, now, of all that early "what are you really about?" and "are you militia?", etc stuff.

     Part of it is our track record speaks for itself. Action you can see ("seeing is believing") is louder than words - or uninformed speculations. And every Appleseed is action...

Just a few pics of the Bay Gun Club range.

The BGC KD range is 50 100 & 200 yd.  By modifying the line we could get 300 and I am sure the BGC board would OK that.  Getting 400 would be quite difficult ... probably impossible at this time.  will check it out.

But, BGC would be a great location for the mid & upper Texas coastal region and inland 100 miles or so.

I have not yet scheduled an event.

Think I'll aim for May. 

It's College Station for me next weekend and promote promote promote here in South Texas for April May & June Corpus Christi.

BDG is in Davilla this weekend (poor cold soul, but, I bet the dust has settled).  He and I will get Corpus Christi plans for April 19 finalized so that metalbot just has to walk in, SB, and git with no problems.

Exciting times in Appleseed.  Yes Siree! O0

Good going Pop! The word is getting out fer sure! I was just in a Lampasas gun shop on Friday dropping off flyers. I was talking to the owner about AS and he had already heard about AS from one of his friends that had been out to Davilla. Then as we were talking in walks his friend. I mentioned how I sure would like to get an AS going in Lampasas some day and they gave me a contact to a local realtor that has a lot of land that a few individuals shoot at. I'll contact him this coming week.
