We had a safe and enjoyable October shoot at Pioneer Sportsmen in Dunbarton, NH. We could not have had a better Saturday in northern New England.  There may have been a little frost on the pumpkin Sunday morning, but we had our moments when the sun broke through. This was our third and final event of the year at Pioneer, but we have four dates on the club calendar for 2021.  A big thank you to the board of the club for the support they have shown to Appleseed and returning to Pioneer.

We had a mixed line of 5 returning shooters and 5 first timers including three generations from one family.  Theo, the youth shooter, shot supported, persisted through the day and saw his groups improve dramatically. Dad and Grandpa also improved. Neal and Danny worked hard and also saw improvement. The instruction continued and we heard the first strike at lunch.  Mid-afternoon we shot our first AQT and Joseph scored a 222 on his first AQT at his first Appleseed. He followed it up with a 227, congratulations! We also had requalification from Brent (219), Jake (235 and 231), Dan (238, 237, 233 and 246) and Maisey (238, 242, 241 and 245).  Congratulations to Dan and Maisey on shooting distinguished.  At the end of the day Jake stepped up and took the orange hat.  Good job and looking forward to working with you.

Sunday continued with more AQTs with some excellent telling of the second and third strikes and hearing about some dangerous old men and lady. More requalifications, multiple distinguished including a very impressive 249 from Maisey:

Brent (215, 223, 217, 235)
Jake (219, 234, 226, 213)
Dan (225, 217, 216, 234, 224, 210, 217, 234)
Maisey (249, 247, 243, 248, 245, 247, 247, 247, 238)

The other good news is that Brent stepped up Sunday and also took the orange hat. Thank you.  With Jake and Brent on board, it bodes very well for program in the area. Lastly, thanks to FiremanBob for running the show, for BD providing his expert instruction and traveling from Maine and for jmurrayvt for making the trip from Vermont and calling a bunch of AQTs.
