Catch-10-22

We had 8 shooters come out for our best weather weekend of the year to learn marksmanship and history in Annapolis, MD. Saturday was cloudy and humid, but Sunday was a mix of sun and clouds and absolutely perfect - 65-75F with a little breeze. Doesn't get better than that!

The students showed vast improvement during the weekend - one only had to look at the first Redcoats on Saturday versus every other Redcoat. We had two folks clear (Amy A 2X and William B on his final Redcoat) but we had 5 shingles hit in the afternoons on both Saturday and Sunday and FOUR 400 yard qualifiers on the final Sunday target. Huzzah on your potentially extinct Maryland Front Sight patches!

In addition to clearing the Redcoat, both Amy A and William B qualified as Rifleman. Amy had previously qualified and re-qualified no less than five times! She knows what she is about. William not only broke through after being frustratingly close at at prior Appleseed with a 210 on Saturday, but scored the weekend's high score of 222 with Tech Sights on Sunday. Congrats!

Derek (205 - aargh!) and Jeff (181) were so close at times but could not put it all together on the same target. First timer Frida and her friend (and returning student) Olivia not only showed massive improvement, but were also on the road to Rifleman with scores in the 170s and 180s. Friends Steven and Tyler struggled through some equipment issues but persisted the entire weekend - even to the point that on the final redcoat an extractor was on the ground from a complete failure of the part...what can you do? For all of you - keep going! You have the skills, you have the mindset, you just need everything to come together.

Agent711 did the entire history this weekend and wowed the students with his detailed knowledge, in addition to covering a large number of the instructional focus. Liberty Boy did an excellent job in his RSO role and was a huge help all weekend. We could not do it without you both.

Would like to thank AAFG for being just an amazing host range for us - thank you for the support of our mission.
