Wow, what a beautiful weekend for an Appleseed!

We started the morning with our safety briefing, including a 10-event pin for our fellow instructor St8Space. Welcome to the 10-club, Mark, and thanks for all that you have done for the program. By the end of the weekend, Mark had also completed all of the requirements for his IIT4. Next step: INSTRUCTOR.

After ensuring that all would be safe for the entire event, we brought rifles to the line and lined up to shoot the morning Redcoat. The results were acceptable, although not fantastic, showing that many had room for improvement. Out of 8 shooters, 4 were proficient at 100 yards, 1 at 300, 2 at 400, but only 1 made the shingle. Well done, Dan.

Before long, we began building solid foundations, which would pay off as the weekend progressed.

Since the group did so well, we took a break from AQTs, and shot a fun team event. Everyone got to take two shots, so each team received a score for the 10 shots. Considering the possibility that there could be a tie, it was announced, before the team shoot started, that we would use the "V" as a tie-breaker.

Indeed, there was a tie, but who would have thought that both teams would score 49 out of 50 points?

And who would have foreseen that both teams could put 7 of 10 shots into the "V"?

An absolute tie!!! Everyone went home with the seldom seen, but highly coveted, Appleseed sticker.

And what Appleseed event would be complete without the appearance of a Guest? The Ohio State Coordinator (Corvette) made an appearance and joined in the fun on Sunday, as well as sharing some personal heritage. He even awarded the Shoot Boss with his 50th event pin.

In closing, we would all like to thank Vienna Fish and Game for hosting our event. This range has been Gold in our hearts, hosting events year after year. Thanks to our range host, Pam, as well as to the range members who allowed the rifle range to be closed down for the entire weekend so that we could spent time together with true Americans.

What a great event.  Glad I could join all of you on Sunday.  Don't get near enough trigger time any more so I was pleased that there was an open space for me. 

And, I am glad that my old eyes and open sights didn't cost our team on the team challenge.  Contrats to St8Space and TexasT on their pin awards and thanks to Pam and the club for having us back for yet another year.  Pam, will see you again next August I hope.
