2020 Front Range/High Plains Pistol Clinics and a Train the Trainer - Consolidat

There have been several posts to promote the upcoming Pistol Clinics taking place in Colorado and Wyoming. Two days ago, Wyoming was also able to arrange one additional special event - a "Train the Trainer". I wanted to make a post to consolidate all the information for these shoots, what they are and who they are for.

Two-day Appleseed Pistol Clinic - this is the final Appleseed product and there are a couple posted in various parts of the country. We don't have one yet in our area although we'd like to post one before winter. There are also some events posted as one-day clinics. These are available to the public. They are taught by qualified Appleseed Pistol Instructors.

Instructor Only One-day Pistol Clinic - these are the two events posted in Denver and Laramie in August. These are to learn about the program and try to qualify "Pistoleer™" on the PQT (210 or above). This is the pistol equivalent of scoring Rifleman on the AQT. The target audience for these events is Red Hat rifle instructors who are interested in becoming Appleseed pistol instructors.

Instructor Only Train-the-Trainer Pistol Clinic - currently, these are the only events where you may "become" an Appleseed Pistol Instructor. They are taught by "charter" pistol instructors. You need to be a "Red Hat" rifle instructor to attend this event (or make arrangements with the Shoot Boss - Ghostring). You will also need to "qualify" (shoot Pistoleer™) if you haven't already.

Note: You should not sign up for these events via TIPs. If you'd like to shoot please access the private links on the Colorado and Wyoming state boards. If there is a link that is contained in an Instructor board (i.e. Colorado Instructors), please let me know and I will:

• Get you access to the state instructor board if you'd like (recommended for "boarder raiders"), or
• Send you the link for the event you're interested in via PM.

As stated above, we are also trying to add an actual Two-Day Appleseed Pistol Clinic somewhere before the end of the season, so watch for that.

THIS IS A BIG DEAL!

This October Train the Trainer is a big deal because it is the ONLY WAY to become a pistol instructor. As a new program, there isn't a well-established path to instructor. The current requirements are:

• Be a "full" Appleseed rifle instructor (Red Hat)
• Shoot "Pistoleer™" on the PQT (210 or above - challenging)
• Attend a "Train the Trainer" event with a "charter" pistol instructor.

We do not have any active "charter" pistol instructors near our states. For this event, Ghostring is coming out from Texas. The next "Train the Trainer" is in November . . . in Ohio! All this is to say that if you are interested in becoming an Appleseed pistol instructor, you should really plan on attending this event. The other scheduled events offer a great opportunity to pre-qualify "Pistoleer™" on the PQT or at least learn the course of fire.

UPDATE (July 23): The first instructor signed up to shoot is driving from western Arizona! Only eleven slots left. Let's fill the line and make some new Pistol Instructors!
