We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

After a lot of scheduling gymnastics, the COVID cloud cover lifted to allow us to run a one-day event at Airfield Shooting Club, Wakefield VA.  Although range restrictions (to include a locked gate) were in place that precluded large groups, the Virginia Instructor Cadre improvised, adapted, and overcame to provide some great instruction to some exceptional students!

Starting with the Hits Count "Redcoat" target as our morning diagnostic, the students soaked in marksmanship fundamentals - a solid shooting position, the six steps of firing a shot, and natural point of aim.  Making some good groups, we quickly moved through Inches-Minutes-Clicks and Rifleman's Cadence, before settling in for some lunchtime history from BrotherPilot and The Wolfhound.

Rolling into the afternoon, the marksmanship instruction focused on developing solid seated and standing positions, with all students showing marked improvement throughout the day.
The afternoon closed out with another Redcoat target, with everybody showing excellent improvement!

Thanks to Mimi for closing the day out with an M1 Carbine Redcoat - scents and sounds very therapeutic after a day full of 22lr rifles!

Well done to Danielle, who fired the very first firearms rounds of her life on Saturday!  You wen't went from "What do I do here?" to solid, scoring groups!

Thank you to BrotherPilot, DeadAnt, The Wolfhound, and Bad Fishy for making this day go a lot smoother than it could have been.  Your commitment to come from afar continues to humble me.

As always, pictures to follow.
"5 minutes for this stage - that's like a week in people years!"

"Responsibility is a unique concept... You may share it with others, but your portion is not diminished. You may delegate it, but it is still with you... If responsibility is rightfully yours, no evasion, or ignorance or passing the blame can shift the burden to someone else. Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible."
― Hyman G. Rickover

"Scoring is a function of great execution, and winning Is the result, but thinking about winning can pull your focus off of proper execution in a competition. Thinking about process is the answer."- Lanny Bassham
