We had another great Appleseed at Cardinal Shooting Center  in Marengo, Ohio. Tweleve motivated shooters showed up Saturday morning ready to work on their marksmanship skills. The weather was great as we started the weekend.

Once all the shooters had arrived, we completed the normal welcome and moved to the safety briefing. Rifles were brought to the line and the Saturday morning Red Coat was shot.  Results showed we had a great bunch of shooters. We had half of the shooters good at 100 and 200 yards and 5 joined Daniel Morgan's rangers.  We didn't have anyone clear the Red Coat but that would change before the weekend was over.

We moved to the steady hold factors in prone, followed by the six steps and NPOA instructions.  Related drills were shot and the morning moved on to shooting sighting groups and an IMC presentation.  We broke for lunch and a great First Strike was delivered by Hammbone.

Final sights adjustments were made and confirmation groups were shot after lunch.
Next steady hold instructions in seated and standing were presented which were followed by related drills. The Second Strike was presented at the afternoon break.

This was followed by a practice AQT and a real AQT.  The Saturday AQT resulted in the first of many Rifleman scores for the weekend.  Robert requalified with a solid 228 and his sister Michelle earned her purple patch with a 215.

The day ended with the Saturday afternoon Red Coat which had results which showed improvement over the morning effort.  Of twelve shooters, we had 11 at 100, 8 at 200, 7 at 300, 2 at 400 and 6 joined Daniel Morgan.

This was followed by the Third Strike and a call to action to all to get active in their local communities.

Sunday dawned overcast and with a light wind.  We started the day with a review of the safety rules and the POI's from Saturday.

Rifles were brought to the line and the Sunday morning Red Coat was shot.  It was very encouraging.  Usually there is a little drop on Sunday morning but not with this group. They smoked it.  We had 12 of 12 at 100, 10 at 200, 7 at 300, 4 at 400, 7 joined Daniel Morgan and we had 3 cleared Red Coats.  Congrats to Rob, Mark and Brandon for your great work on this Red Coat.

We moved to carding the sights and then started the AQT grind.

The shooters were up to the challenge. Our shooters delivered 19 qualifying scores on Sunday. They were amazing.  We had 2 requalifying shooters and 4 new Riflemen and Riflewomen.  We had a total of 21 qualifying scores for the weekend.

Rob:  228, 216, 228, 226, 224, 227
Michelle:  225, 216
Mark: 212, 213, 227, 224, 230, 219
Brandon: 217, 211, 216, 211
Al: 221
Jason: 218, 217
We also had 6 cleared Red Coats on Sunday.  WOW.  Congrats to Rob, Mark, Brandon, and Al for showing their skills.

My thanks to all the shooters for hard work.  The results speak for themselves.  This was a memorable Appleseed.
Our thanks to the Cardinal Shooting Center  for hosting our event and my thanks to Hammbone, Cactus Jack, Dragonfly Warrior and Black_Bird for working this event.

We look forward to our next event at Cardinal Shooting Center.
