This Shoot Boss had the absolute pleasure to experience his first Appleseed in Virginia at the Jonesville shoot this last weekend! We had 18 eager shooters show up Friday morning and we got right to work with our task of teaching the three pillars of Markmanship: Steady Hold Factors, The 6 Steps of Firing the Shot, and Natural Point of Aim. The instructors turned on the "firehose" of marksmanship information, and the heat of the day made us wish for a literal firehose! It was a warm one! But with many hydration breaks throughout the day the shooters persisted with no apparent ill effects, besides a few sunburns :cool2:

Day 2 on Saturday started out warmer than the previous day, and all the shooters returned to continue on the path of becoming riflemen! There were many excellent targets scored on Saturday and each shooter had marked improvement during this weekend. At the end of the day we did have two new riflemen! Eli shot a 212, and Christian scored a 211!! Huzzah!

I want to thank all those who came out this weekend. The history presentation was not lost on these fine Virginians, and that fact alone makes the trip from GA so worth the effort.

I also want to thank the local instructors, Hazmatt1 and BoltGunBill, and also TennesseeBeast from Nashville. You make the job of Shoot Boss much easier than it could be. Huzzah!!

Sounds like a good time was had by all!
And, wow, a full line of 18...great!
Thanks, Steve, for taking on this trip, and to all who participated.

Not gonna lie - I'm absolutely thrilled that this event swelled to 18 on the line!

Many thanks to Matt who set the conditions, with Rifleman's perseverance, to grow this event and make it happen!

"Responsibility is a unique concept... You may share it with others, but your portion is not diminished. You may delegate it, but it is still with you... If responsibility is rightfully yours, no evasion, or ignorance or passing the blame can shift the burden to someone else. Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible.

I really enjoyed working this event. The setting was amazing...you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere (but with port-o-johns).  I was inspired by the patriots that came to the event.  If they are any indication of where our country is heading, there is hope.  I definitely got my money's worth! The participants endured the heat well, which impressed me. The host, HazMatt1, was very accommodating to this "border raider" and I really enjoyed working with Morpheus and learning from Him.  BoltGunBill, it is hard to believe it was your first event as an instructor-in-training.  Congratulations to Eli and Christian.  They worked very hard for their patches.  The young students did a great job making their rifles safe and pretty much everyone improved their marksmanship greatly.  Keep at it and you'll make Rifleman!

A huge THANKS to Morpheus for coming up and making this event possible! Thanks to Tennessee Beast for making the trip too! It was an honor and pleasure working with both of yall. Bolt Gun Bill surpassed my expectations as an IIT( although as my neighbor, he had significant pressure ~~:) ;D ). The shooters who attended were truly a fine group of patriots and the younger shooter's perseverance in the heat is an example to us all! This was one of the best shoots we've hosted here to date!

Thanks to our border raiders, Morpheus and Tennessee Beast for standing in for the Virginians who live farther away.  It was a somewhat "national" event.

I had a spare bucket and was happy to help bail.  Tennessee is the "Volunteer State" after all.
