Sacramento, CA AAR April 13-14 PATRIOTS Day

Wonderful weather for this Patriots day event. It was nice and warm on Saturday and just a tad windy on Sunday.

Thank you to Sacramento Valley Shooting Center for being a wonderful host.

The Saturday AM Redcoat told us we had a bit of work to do and boy this group of shooters was ready for it. A ton of great attitudes all around.

We went from one shooter having an effective range of 300y and 3 shooters at 100y in the morning pre-instruction to having; 4-100y, 2-200y, 2-300y, 1-400y, SEVEN-headshots, and 1 shooter clearing the Redcoat target! The shooters were really starting to know what they were about.

The history as always was evocative and well presented.

On Saturday afternoon we only had time to post one AQT. Damon was courting that rifleman patch with a first score of 207. Also both Chris and Scott posted repeat rifleman scores.

Sunday we got a new shooter who did a wonderful job of "catching up" to the rest of the group that was coming back from a full day of learning marksmanship and heritage.

After lunch we shot the Patriots day memorial volley in recognition of those Patriots who gave their lives on April 19th, 1775. It was an honor to call this course of fire.

Sunday Chris had posted numerous repeat rifleman scores including 220, 225, and 226 scores. Very consistent, great job! A worthy mention.

Congratulations to our new Rifleman Damon who posted his first rifleman score of 221!

By the end of Sunday we saw everyone improve to include but not limited to 5 shooters showing us that they knew their effective range was 400y and another clearing the Redcoat target. Persistence.

Well done everybody. Thank you for attending. Thank you for opening up your hearts and your minds. Also thank you for helping us to clean up. You all made this a special weekend.

Thank you to the instructors who made this happen.

Thanks so much to the Appleseed instructors for their hard work and dedication to the program. Excellent instruction, enjoyed the storytelling.

Appreciate help given to the junior shooters that came with me, hope to return soon.
