Registration just opened up for the traveling small arms firing school from camp perry. It will be hosted at DRRC in Eagle Creek, OR June 8 & 9. Registrations are limited: http://thecmp.org/training-tech/small-arms-firing-school-training/

For those interested in becoming a CMP certified Range Officer you can apply for the level 1 course online and then complete the level 2 for pistol and rifle on Friday the 7th.

Great opportunity for shooters and instructors alike.

Redhead

Yesterday I was told that as of the first of April there was still some 20 places open.  If you did not sign up right when registration opened and assumed it would be filled by now there are still slots open.  You will need to create a CMP account first, which is free.  Not a bad idea anyways if you're ever interested in buying stuff from the CMP.

This is marksmanship training from some of the best.  Normally you'd have to spend big bucks traveling back East to attend one of these schools.  They will supply the guns (AR-15) and ammo.  Everyone shoots the same type/configured rifle and the same ammo.  Electronic targets so no need to do a shift working the target pits.  It also means no need for an expensive spotting scope.  You just need the rest of the gear you'd normally bring to shoot an Appleseed event.
