Instructor and Applecore go to BamaCarry Freedom Conference 2019
« on: February 18, 2019, 06:52:35 PM »
AH1Tom and MtnOakBz went to the BamaCarry (https://www.facebook.com/groups/BamaCarry/) annual Freedom Conference in Jasper Alabama on 9 Feb. BamaCarry is a Statewide gun rights organization.
The day started with short presentations from several of our political representatives including Senator Gerald Allen, Lt Governor Wil Ainsworth, and State Auditor Jim (Zig) Zeigler. Senator Allen talked about his bill, SB4, making Alabama a Constitutional Carry State. Lt Governor Ainsworth and State Auditor Jim Zeigler both stated their support for Senator Allen’s bill and support for the 2nd Amendment.
There were several guest speakers; Mark Keith Robinson (www.facebook.com/imthemajorityusa), Kaitlin Bennett (www.facebook.com/KaitsUnsafeSpace), CJ Grisham (http://www.opencarrytexas.org/home-1.html), and Erich Pratt of the GOA (gunowners.org).
Erich Pratt talked about the suit GOA has filed against the Bump Stock Ban. BamaCarry has joined in with the GOA in that fight.
Katlin Bennett and her fiancé, encouraged the young people to stand up for their/our rights. It was also very disheartening to hear about the resistance she encountered among her peers at the college and the death threats she has received.
CJ Grisham is with Open Carry Texas,  http://www.opencarrytexas.org/home-1.html,  and talked about some of the issues he has encountered in Texas as he fights for the rights of gun owners in his state.
I think the highlight of the day was Mark Keith Robinson. Mark is the gentleman whose speech in front of the Greensboro NC City Council went viral and he is now the head of I Am The Majority USA facebook.com/imthemajorityusa. Mark is the embodiment of passion as he speaks about our freedoms, our unalienable rights from our creator.
We had a great day and I plan to go again next year. I also plan to investigate the cost/procedure to set up a booth at next years event and, if feasible, will set one up for Project Appleseed.
