Just putting this out on  everyone's radar.
There are currently several legislative issued dealing with gun rights. You may find the current ones HERE (https://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?191+sbj+068).

Sadly, our new Governor has advanced a bill that would lead to a severe restriction of many firearms in common use today.

"Del. Kathy Tran, D-42nd, and Sen. Adam Ebbin, D-30th, are sponsoring a bill to ban the sale, purchase, possession and transport of assault firearms in the commonwealth. The bill modifies the definition of assault firearm to "any firearm that is equipped with a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds of ammunition."

In the simplest of translation, that means most of our handguns with 15 round magazines would be considered an assault weapon. Further, there was no language as to the intent of any grandfathering in of these weapons. Please take a moment to write to your representatives and our governor to express your views of this proposed legislation.

Better yet, come out to Lobby Day next Monday and tell them in person!  Meet at the Capital Bell Tower at 8:30 AM

Planning on being there on Monday.  What's the guidance on carrying, etc?  Anything in particular to bring besides, obviously, ourselves?  And for us folks who don't have a clue about Richmond, any suggestions on where to park?

HB 2492 was killed in committee today, by a vote of 3-1.  As were a slew of other anti-liberty bills.

Make sure you contact your delegate and state senator and let them know how you feel about it.
"5 minutes for this stage - that's like a week in people years!"

"Responsibility is a unique concept... You may share it with others, but your portion is not diminished. You may delegate it, but it is still with you... If responsibility is rightfully yours, no evasion, or ignorance or passing the blame can shift the burden to someone else. Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible."

Unlike most State offices, The General Assembly runs their own building. They decreed many years ago that firearms are allowed.  The provision is that one must possess a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit to carry in the building.  Open Carry is fine but permit required.  Tis odd but there it is.  It is fun getting scanned at the entrance to the building BEEP "gun" BEEP "magazine"  "Thank you move along...." Kabuki Theater.  I plan to arrive a bit before 8AM  I have a list of Delegates to visit leading a team through the building.  Any and all are welcome to join in.
