Looking forward to some cloud cover for this weekend's event in Custer, WA.

I'm not really ready to be done with summertime yet but the cool rain was more comfortable than the cooking heat of the last few months. The lines were thin but the promise was high. Everyone was shooting great groups and Marksman + on the AQT. Alas, only Matt was able to put it all together this weekend. Congratulations on the patch. That dry practice paid off.

Our 3 young patriots were all knocking on the door. Gabe shot his high score of 198. If they could only shoot stage 4 as well as they shoot stage 2 & 3. Slow down - make them count.

Everyone was very engaged and showed improvement.

Here are some pictures I took. At one point I stood over each of you to take pictures of your position for coaching purposes. I left them in the album so you can continue to evaluate your form. (Sorry I missed you Ray). https://photos.app.goo.gl/nYeqPstojDYBxZkc8

I look forward to continuing the path with you all. Our next event at CSC will be Nov 17 & 18 (maybe we will get that sunshine we expected this weekend???)

I do think I had a great time, especially when I got to zero and shoot an AQT, a perfect stage 3 - every target missed because my sights were gone. Oh, well - next time. Great to see everyone else's progress and improvements. There are many things we can all do to improve - practice is on top of the list.

I did jot down a brief blog post about this great time.  http://earl-earlsview.blogspot.com/2018/08/ah-i-need-to-fix-that-in-my-life.html

I met Bob on Sunday afternoon, he is the coach of the NRA Junior shooters (they likely have a better name) but he was kind enough to talk, show me one of their rifles and discuss the need to keep teaching marksmanship and our history and heritage to the people. Reminds me of my first rifle instructor coach, in 1962. We hope we can pass it on.

Don't forget, the seventh step, tell your story on the Appleseed, bring friends and family next time, and step up and become one of the few. O0
... to catch the fire in another American for sharing the skills and our heritage to our posterity. Maybe my perfect shots will be made by those I met along the trials and trails of Appleseed. I know that America is a nation of Riflemen.
