Wow, what a great range and gun club! Otto Rd Shooting Range is a spectacular new spot for Appleseed in WY. Thanks to Wendy T. for getting the ball rolling here.

Saturday morning started out as any typical Wyoming morn. Beautiful, sunny, warm and windy. A  dozen patriots and a invigorated Instructor crew of 6, began the day with the Pledge of Allegiance, safety rules and making rifles safe. Followed closely by the dreaded Red Coats. With highs in the 90s the students found drinking from the fire hose was tiring. But continued through the day. Much knowledge was pass along and groups became smaller. Luckily the breeze kept the temps manageable.

As the Instructors recovering from good food and better friends from Saturday. This day started an hour early, in hope to beat any weather on Sunday. At 7:30, we had already reached the high of the day at 59. The crew scrambling to find more layers  With all but one of the Saturdays class returned, the The pledge, safety rules, etc were done and the red coats were presented. great improvement from yesterday!!  With weather threatening, these dedicated students trudged on. More will come and pictures also

Thanks Dan, great pics. Hope your trip south was dry.

Did I mention that this is the first shoot in years, that there were more center fire rifles than rim fire. To my recollection: 2 M1A 4 ARs. intermixed with the Rugers and Marlins. The bangs reminded me of the ole days!!

Weather still was the issue, sending some home early. But there were riflemen minted. I will leave some things for the others to report.

A great weekend at Otto Road Range!  And talk about varied weather : from being in the 90s on Saturday to 50s and rainy on Sunday was a shock to all of us.  It was great to visit with old friends and make some new ones.  Ages ranged from 15 to 76.  It was heartwarming for this old goat  to see all you younger folks out doing something worthwhile.  Proving that their shooting skills had not been dampened, Mike B. requalified with a 210, Mike S. with a 210, and Shannon with a 220.  Congratulations to all of you.  No, we did not bathe the Mikes - they were already soaked!   There were several shooting in the 190s, including our lone woman shooter, Wendy.  Good job to all

Students came from as far away as Cheyenne (8 miles) and Colorado Springs (considerably more).  Thank you all for coming.  Those who live close to Cheyenne would be well advised to become members of Otto Road Range.  It is well situated, well managed and should be well supported.  Thank you, Otto Road Range for supporting Project Appleseed.

Thank you to all the Instructors: sleepy, DocJoe5, Airmed15, and Mr. Aufbau.  And of course thanks to our Regional Coordinator colonial shooter for attending.  Special thanks to him and to Wendy for organising the shoot.

Thanks to all attendees, local and "foreign" (you are always welcome in Wyoming).  Thanks to the centrefire shooters for providing a little noise.  As Sam said, it brings back memories of the old days.  I was very pleased to see skills increase over the weekend.  Thanks for making the shoot so enjoyable.
Hope to see you all again on the Appleseed Trail.  Persevere and you shall prevail!
PLEASE POST PICS OF RIFLEMEN AND YOUTH!
