We had a great start Saturday morning for our Patriot's Day Appleseed Shoot at the Red Hill Range in Martin GA! The shooters showed up bright and early and we began the day with our safety briefing before setting down the path of teaching the three pillars of marksmanship. Since this was a special weekend where we remember those who fell on April 19, 1775 we modified the course of instruction for the day so that we could be prepared to fire the memorial volley at 4:00pm. We were proud to issue the special April 19, 1775 patches to all of these fine folks who chose to spend their beautiful Saturday with us. No new Riflemen this day but we did see some very promising scores.

The forecast for Sunday was for rain....lots of rain. I asked the shooters if any had plans to return and slog it out for the day, and some said that they would!

The forecast was accurate. The rain started around 6:00am and it was a steady rain for the most part with some heavy downpours to make things more interesting. In spite of this, three shooters did return and we went right in to minting new riflemen. Congratulations to Casey! Through his persistence he scored a 220 to earn his soaked Rifleman Patch! Well done!! Anna and Adam were both shooting very well even though we were all a bit saturated. If they persist, I know that they will earn that patch as well very soon.

Thank you all for making this weekend so worth the time that we instructors invest in it. It really does mean a lot to this Shoot Boss. And thank you to the instructors for your help. Huzzah!!
