Do you Go to UC?  That's were I went to school years ago!! Ha Ha.
I walk by it a lot... does that count?

Nope. I don't go there. I was one of those dummies that enlisted in the military instead of going to school first. Perhaps someday I'll get the funds together but until then I'm hoping to be smart by proximity. Either way though, Go Bearcats! Big East Champs! What!

I came here to look for Appleseeds for some friends in Cincinatti, but came across this thread.

ooh ah! on this.

I think it's great to be thinking on these terms. I've been wondering how I might be able to make contact with the people miles and miles away in NY, NH and VT when the grid goes down.

BTW: You guys will be having Seeds in the Cincinatti area won't you?

Looks like there are several Ham radio operators here. The American Redoubt Radio Operaters Network (AMRRON) has put together a Communications Signals Operating Instructions (SOI) PDF file.

This SOI is being adopted and adapted by other groups like the Oath Keeprs and The American Preparedness Radio Network (TAPRN).

Here's a summary from their web site:

Quote
If it all went down tomorrow and your family's life depended on it...

How would you receive information?

What frequency would you turn to?

What time do you listen? How long?

What/Who do you listen for?

How would you report information?

How would you connect with like-minded people?

Can you get your COMMS UP?

If you don't get your COMMS UP now, you won't then.

Slim, thanks for starting this. I may not be in Ohio, but these days, you never know what situations may arise requiring contacts and way-points. If you ever need me you know where/how to find me.

I should probably sign up here, since I am more involved with my adopted Ohio family than with my native PA group.
