We had a successful Appleseed this weekend hosted by the Matamoras Rod and Gun club. Two new riflemen Tom and Wren and three First Pa /redcoat members (tom, wren, and Eugene) Special mention to Theo who also shot the score on the first AQT but not within time. The weekend started with the Shootboss StevenK, Redhat MK1765, IIT Boru, and IIT Mantis running about Saturday morning getting everyone on the same page and into the black. Once we were all hitting the sighters we proceeded with NPOA and trigger control drills. then, the AQT started- We shot 8 AQT,  two RFAQT and several trigger and NPOA drills out of the book in a friendly competition. Individual and group Instruction continued through the AQTs. The cold weather presented some issues but there were pleasant sections of the day where the sun came to visit.  We had a good fire in the cabin and made use of it for lunch and for the three strikes. Most upbeat shooter award goes to Bruno, the fastest guy on the RFAQT. Kevin almost cleared the redcoat but was outside despite a great right side goup at the 400-he was so pleased that he remained impervious to Brendan's good natured ribbing on his progress.  George came with no prior shooting experience but showed good groups at 1,2,and 3 by the close of the event. Douglas attended and worked hard on his AQT progress. Bill, Holly, and Stephen also participated in the event.  The New York crew- Manpal, Chris, and Jonathan - showed great team spirit when they as a group cheered the Redcoat success of their fourth member Eugene- Eugene was a first time shooter and had never shot a rifle before.  Mk1765 worked closely with Eugene all weekend as he persisted to apply the instruction. They were all so happy that I had the sense all five actually shot the target.

Round count was 433; the shooting closed at 3:30 due to the impending darkness, cold, and shooter fatigue. We policed and broke down the line, then went to the cabin to close the day. Smiles and handshakes promised we would meet again soon. (Photos -none due to several restraints on the release).
