Cavalier Rifle & Pistol Club, Montpelier VA Sept 9-10 2017

Yet another awesome event at Cavalier Rifle & Pistol Club! 19 students, ranging in age from 11 to the 60's, came from around the area to learn the fundamentals of making accurate, repeatable shots and about our cultural heritage as Riflemen.

We were also treated to a presentation by one of our students, a period reenactor, who gave us a live musket demonstration!

5 students earned the coveted Rifleman patch, achieving expert classification on the Appleseed Qualification Test, and the rest were either really close or made strong progress towards Rifleman.

As instructors, it was absolutely exciting and vindicating to see so much progress during one event.  We spend our personal time and dollars to make sure that our the instruction we provide gives the best bang for the buck.  Our reward is watching the light bulb come on in our students' minds when they finally understand concepts such as NPOA or the scope of what the Founding Fathers sacrificed to give us the liberties we continue to hold to this day.

We were well rewarded during this event.  It was a VERY good weekend.

Thank you Monkey for the excellent instruction and assistance throughout this event.

The information my wife, Tracy, and I gained goes well beyond the cost of the course or the money spent on rifles and ammunition.  These are skills that are crucial for shooting well and understanding that extremely minor changes add up to big gains or losses, even at 25 meters.

We could not have asked for a better group of Appleseed instructors.  The history of April 19, 1775 brings home the importance of knowing how to fire a weapon for not only hunting, but for the protection of family, property and protecting the ideas that founded the United States.  It was those that knew this skill that helped found this nation and its those that know this skill that still protect this nation today. 

Thank you again for the great lessons and the opportunities that Project Appleseed provide to learn something new, no matter how old or young you are.
