When two of the pre-registered students requested a date and venue change, we wound up with one attendee on Saturday.  Since the instructor and IIT2 had traveled all the way to work the event, we carried on with the one shooter.  This allowed Headshot Heather to perform SBIT duties and take a leadership role in planning and running the event. As well, it allowed Glock Mike to take the next step toward earning his instructor credentials by performing the instructional tasks found on the PC3 evaluation.

On Sunday, our solo shooter informed us via a text message, that he had sustained an injury and wouldn't be able to make it to the AS that day. By the way at the end of Saturday, the lone shooter was knocking on the door with a high AQT score of 191.  I believe when he's ready to return after coming so close, he will be able to meet or exceed the 210 score he needs to qualify.

On receiving the news and realizing we had no attendees to instruct, Headshot Heather called her cousin (and the cousin's spouse) and asked them to come out and learn a little something about marksmanship and history; they arrived about 9:30.  With the new attendees, we "fire hosed" them with safety rules, marksmanship instruction and demonstrations, and had them shoot several drills so Mike could complete the remaining PC3 requirements.  We also managed to work in the "Volley for Liberty" and honor the Patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice. Both the SBIT and current IIT2 surpassed the standards expected of their respective roles and are well on their way to becoming valuable Appleseed personnel.
