We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

Howdi;

I am in Pittsburg Kansas (an unlikely name to be sure) and eager to help out as I can.

1.  To Dad and the others plotting the Witchita area Appleseeds: Let me know when you have the schedule for 2009 and I will start advertising here in my area.  I am the faculty advisor to the University Gun Club and am a member of the local Gun Club.  I will advertise events with them and try to get flyers put up at the local gun stores. If you wish to make product (flyers) and send them I wont argue, otherwise get me the info and I will design flyers (perhaps there are formats on the forum that I just havent discovered yet also, I am a noob  :) )  Hopefully we can get a bunch of young people to some Appleseeds this year!

2.  I also am going to try to get the local gun club to start some informal AQT shoots here so we can get the interest up.  While I showed up at my 1st (and only so far) Appleseed ready to learn my focus was increased dramatically by my horrible performance on the Red Coat target! I have run into a few members who have heard of the RWVA and have the interest.

I look forward to working with everyone.  I shot in my first Appleseed last weekend.  It was a fun and eye opening experience.  I will make a couple of early New Year's Resolutions here so folks can needle me later if I am not meeting them.

1.  I will make Rifleman with a .308 Battle Rifle in 2009
2. I will promote the building of the Kansas program to the best of my ability.  With my job and location I will make a special area of emphasis getting young people to events.
3.  I will advocate the program to my friends and contacts in and out of the gun community.  All Americans can benfit from what you have to offer.

AdamSelene,

Please contact Spatulaman.  He's the Flyer Team Leader and I'm sure he can fix you right up, Sir.  ;)

Also, you may wish to sound off here as well - http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=3854.0
"Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother's sword has been sheathed in a brother's breast and that the once-happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by a race of slaves.  Sad alternative!  But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?" - George Washington - from a letter to a close friend after the events of April 19, 1775

"There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our (the United States) overthrow.  Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter.  From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger.  I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing." - Daniel Webster, June 1, 1837
