Thank you all.  It has really been a privilege to get to bail with you folks.  And it's a comfort to know that you'll be there to save the day when I make the inevitable boo-boos (which will then equally inevitably show up set to music at the IBC.)

I guess that pie was pretty good.  I liked this piece, a lot.

And I missed an opportunity...I should have taken a photo that showed the whole scene...two pieces of pie and two green hats (one shiny, one a little faded) on the table at a truck stop, a weathered COF and notes partly in the frame to one side.  I'd probably have framed that photo.  I'd like to think that Norman Rockwell might have painted something like that if he'd tagged along to an admin meeting after an Appleseed.

Well...moving on...moving forward.  I left a bucket around here somewhere...that AAR and IAAR won't write themselves!  Thank you again, and I'll see you on the trail.

Oh--and with a 4-hour drive ahead of you?  Pump sugar into your veins then have you falling asleep halfway home.  I couldn't let you face that peril--it's too perilous!   @)

I'd be happy to buy each of you pie at another admin meeting down the road, though...

If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. (James Madison)

"Young man, what we meant in going for those Redcoats was this: we always had governed ourselves and we always meant to. They didn't mean we should."
(Captain Levi Preston, of the Danvers militia, at age 91, remembering the day)

That it is an indispensable duty which we owe to God, our country, ourselves and posterity, by all lawful ways and means in our power to maintain, defend and preserve those civil and religious rights and liberties, for which many of our fathers fought, bled and died, and to hand them down entire to future generations.  Suffolk Resolves, September 9, 1774, attributed to Dr. Joseph Warren
