Christmas Day:  If anyone is so inclined, there is an annual "Washington Crossing the Delaware" reenactment on Christmas Day in New Hope PA. Go through the town and drive a little, then you will come to the Park. We will be there.  We did this about two years ago and it was really a lot of fun. Dress warmly. The events are well attended, and we should have a rally point for Appleseed people.  Here is the link.

61st Annual Christmas Crossing
Admission: FREE Admission
Each December, thousands of people gather on the banks of the Delaware to watch the reenactment of George Washington's daring 1776 river crossing. During the event, visitors watch as two hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by Washington and then row across the river in three replica Durham boats and the battoe "Moon", a small river boat. Come and reflect on the historic activities of 1776 and witness this great commemorative event.

Hey PA:

We are definately going (God willing). It should be 50 degrees. I will have some kind of Grey colored (or Gray colored) "Appleseed" flag so look for that.  Probably have on my Red Sweatshirt as it will be warm.  Will be there with another instructor. Hope to see one of you!

Several Thousand people showed up on Christmas to watch the crossing. It was a little dangerous, as the water was high.  Here are a few pictures, but I will do more later and send this over to NJ and NY.  Very good spirits.  I talked to a few people about Appleseed, as always, and brought some of the printed information for whomever would listen.  There are more pictures of the crowd - you couldn't get close enough to see as the crowd as several deep Many people came and left after the first boat crossed - understandable because of the date, but they showed up here first and then went for dinner with the family. THis worked out for us as we then had a few spots to watch the crossing.

THere were many great firearms/muskets held by the re-enactors.  One fella had a hand made PA rifle, beautiful; really nice work.

More to come - Patriots day next.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."
