Palmerton PA Sit-Rep: (DAY ONE)  13 shooters braved the rain and cold damp weather to participate in the September 2014 Palmerton PA Shoot.  Kevin cleared the Redcoat and shot an unofficial 229 on the AQT (See photo). He is a repeat Rifleman from prior events.  HIs fellow shooters had (by cold days end) close groups and cold fingers. The Redcoat average showed  max effective range (MER) out to 400 yards among several shooters with increasing MER among the rest. Our young shooters were tough and hung in there with smiles just like the old folks.  Tomorrow promises to be a sunny day, so those fingers and happy faces should be just fine. A warm thanks and appreciation to LivefreeUSA, Arrigetch, MK1765, and Jesse-O, IMHO the finest and most upbeat crew you'll ever meet at an Appleseed event. SPecial thanks to Jesse-O [Old Reliable] an IIT who is always at these events, no matter where, no matter how far. Finally, all of us appreciate these shooters -  determined, enthusiastic, and ..... cold. There is no place better in America than an Appleseed event, even in the cold. (DAY TWO) Fred sent the sun our way (by God's grace) and our ranks augmented by 1 (Elyssia - Previous Rifleman) for a  this AM to make 14 a line of 14 shooters. Tonya persisted through much and ultimately cleared the Redcoat (See photo). All of  our shooters scores improved to respectable heights. There are many future rifleman in these ranks. Of special note - Arrigetch tested for and was promoted to Full Red Hat instructor, and repeat Rifleman Kevin Kimmick stepped up to take an Orange hat after he again cleared the Redcoat and shot a timed 338 (he makes these things look easy). Welcome to the ranks, Kevin! A special note to Nicole from all of us for her admirable persistence under some very tough conditions - she is a surely a Riflewoman in the making. Thanks to all who participated, and thank God for our sunshine this second day.
