Once again we had a fantastic shoot in Great Falls, MT. Overall, we had six shooters. One was a returning rifleman, and we minted three (3!) new rifleman. We saw Keith and Paul returning to chase the patch, Ron (an already seasoned rifleman) bring Suzy (a new and enthusiastic shooter), and were graced with Dave and Mary as walk ons. The shooters braved chilly mornings and hot, sunny afternoons both Saturday and Sunday. Dave was a shooter at our April 19 shoot last spring and came close to shooting rifleman, and this past Saturday he succeeded! Even better, Dave agreed to take an orange hat! Welcome aboard Dave, we're all looking forward to working with you. Mary did an excellent learning and applying the fundamentals and most importantly, following the safety rules. She's a youth shooter and stuck it out for the whole weekend. Kaiser, Mark and I were certainly impressed with her tenacity.

Paul and Keith showed up, eager to earn their patch and after coming very close Saturday (Paul shot a 208 on the first AQT of Saturday), both of them shot rifleman on Sunday. Paul even cracked the 230 mark. The two of you showed great persistence and your hard work paid off.

Ron did a fine job 7th stepping and brought Suzy to her first Appleseed. Not only was Suzy a joy to have on the line with us, she even baked us cookies Sunday morning! Ron came out and shot a 210 on the nose on his first AQT with a beautiful M1A and returned Sunday to shoot a 236 on his second AQT Sunday. He even let this humble instructor put a mag through his rifle. Thanks Ron! Suzy was a new shooter and her willingness to try new and unfamiliar things was refreshing.

It was great meeting you Ron, Suzy, and Mary, and great to see you again Keith, Paul, and Dave. Remember to keep up your dry fire practice and tell your friends about Appleseed! Hope to see you all again soon.

Dang, sounds like a great shoot, sorry I missed it!  Thanks for stepping up Dave and taking the orange hat, I'll be in touch after a bit here.
