Just north of the IN-MI border about 30 minutes!!  All IN instructors and Riflemen are welcome!

Oz and I have been lobbying WRGC to host a rifle match that utilizes skills one would learn in an Appleseed -- as a way to 1) develop a closer relationship to a very supportive club, 2) keep Appleseed people engaged with the organization and give them some way to use their skills and 3) show others the value of Appleseed instruction

This is not being billed as an Appleseed event but we will likely use the opportunity to promote AS.  We are working with the club to have the net proceeds benefit one of the shooting programs (more good will).  COF you can see is AS-familiar.

•   3 positions, 4 stages, shoot against reduced 100-400 yard targets out to 100 actual yards for rimfire, 200 actual yards for centerfire
    o   Stage 1 - Slow Fire Standing, 100 yd simulated, 10 shots, 2 minutes
o   Stage 2 - Rapid Fire Seated, 200 yd simulated, 10 shots = 2 shots, mag change, 8 shots, 50 seconds (no transitions, start from seated with an unloaded rifle)
o   Stage 3 - Rapid Fire Prone, 300 yd simulated, 10 shots = 2 shots, mag change, 8 shots, 60 seconds (no transitions, start from prone with an unloaded rifle)
o   Stage 4 - Slow Fire Prone, 400 yd simulated, 10 shots, 5 minutes, double points
•   Rimfire procedure using 25% reduced targets:
    o   100 yd simulated at 25 yards
    o   200 yd simulated at 50 yards
    o   300 yd simulated at 75 yards
    o   400 yd simulated at 100 yards
•   Centerfire procedure using 50% reduced targets:
    o   100 yd simulated at 50 yards
    o   200 yd simulated at 100 yards
    o   300 yd simulated at 150 yards
    o   400 yd simulated at 200 yards
•   Each stage will be run in relays.  Once a relay is complete, the range will be made cold and stage targets will be retrieved and scored.
•   Target and firing lines
o   The target line will be at the 200 yd berm
o   Firing lines will be clearly marked on the ground
o   Transitions between target lines will be accomplished as a group with safed rifles under positive control by the Line Boss and RSO  (Appleseed procedures)

No transitions for safety's sake...but we are cutting the stage time.  4 classes: RI=rimfire iron sights, RO=rimfire optic sight, CI=centerfire iron sights, CO=centerfire optic sight.  Target is a 25% or 50% reduced D-Target shot at varying distances to encourage the application of come ups.  Prizes will be FABULOUS and include free admission to an Appleseed clinic, stickers, hats, random gun parts from my gun cave and lots of bragging rights.

We encourage any and all AS instructors from MI and IN (or elsewhere) to come up and help work and shoot.  Looking forward to this being a fun and productive event for the club.  Will let you know if it is a productive promotions tool.

This is a brilliant idea!  I would love to see this and variations of it become more popular.
