It was definitely a Winterseed - we had to plow the range of 16 inches of fresh snow just to be able to use it(!), temps were in the 20s, and more snow fell on Saturday!  Five hardy shooters joined us, including three first-timers, with one driving over 3 hours from another state - impressive all around.  All shooters were very safe and a pleasure to instruct.  After the AM instructional/demo/shoot, we sat in the (warm) clubhouse and heard some  history; the 1st strike of the match.  After lunch we switched to the AQ; we made two Riflemen, both of whom quite understandably chose the Winterseed patch at the evening benediction.  Our evening Redcoats showed significant improvement across the board in marksmanship.  Sunday we shot more AQTs in the morning, got a KD (Known Distance) lecture in the (very warm) clubhouse, then proceeded to shoot at 100yds., both the full-size and scaled (400yds. @ 100) targets.  Everyone saw how this stuff really works at distances well beyond 25M.  We did several drills across both days:  ball & dummy, happy finger, buddy finger, and carding the sights.  And we heard the 2nd and 3rd strikes of the match, as well as "Dangerous Old Men and Women" history - and in doing so, answered the Four Questions. Thanks to Enfield Outing Club, our always gracious host club.  Also special thanks to M.H., who gave up his Sat AM to come by just to help out the Shoot Boss when he most needed it.  Much obliged!  We hope all shooters enjoyed themselves, spread the word to their friends / family / neighbors, like us on Facebook, and return for another Appleseed event.  it was a real pleasure to meet and instruct all of you.
