Good Morning Everyone

This past weekend was awesome. We had an incredible example of our community present. We had young children and senior adults and everything in between. We saw friends shooting together and fathers bringing sons and daughters for first time ever shots, we had a former marine from many years back testing the shooting waters again and a return visit from both a past Shoot Boss and an Appleseeder on the trail seeking the riflemen patch.

This was a great example of our California Shooting Community at its best; sharing a great program with family, friends and mat neighbors  :)

Thank You for a great weekend everyone.

Our three strikes were given by our two orange hats seeking their red hats. DBattles09 delivered the first strike with confidence and detail, Bucklenose followed up with strike two and three and moved through the historic stories with confidence and personalization. Well done guys!

We had equipment challenges, some super cold weather (haha haha - cold for Southern Californians :)) but as a group we learned and grew together. Our redcoat's scores increased nicely, we had young Appleseeders so attentive that as a group they spoke the four safety rules, we got to hand out a new riflemen patch and see the re-qualification of a returning Shoot Boss  :)
There are many great things I can add but, let leave room for others to chime in :-)

Folks I am going to close out this post by saying as an individual standing against the tide we can slow some of the rushing water, but as a community standing against the tide we can together stop it.

Pictures and additional comments to come

Enjoy a great day Everyone
Warmest Regards

My pictures from the shoot.  Hope to see you all again next year!

The view on a slightly drizzly but invigorating Saturday morning

We have a special Luther Blanchard Award for youngsters who acquit themselves with temerity and grace.  You won't find a more eager bunch of trigger pullers than these fine folks!

While we cover all the instruction on Saturday, the real progress comes on Sunday, as seen in the faces of our focused students while Old-School Appleseeder f-stop covers the safety brief

Our Shoot Boss trainee Jacob translates the funny things our targets say...  and they have a lot to say!

There's no better way to learn than one-on-one in the dirt -- or in this case two-on-one as we help CJ work through his AR-15

Last and never least, our new Rifleman!  Cory printed back-to-back scores of 224 and 226, with iron sights no less.  Congratulations!

Thanks for the opportunity to teach the first stroke. I'll get it more concise next time.

It was so great to see how enthusiastic people were at the shoot!

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
