What a great weekend promoting Appleseed to hundreds of members, prospective members and families at the Flagler Gun Club. This will open the thread and I will post pictures tomorrow.  I am sure that the other AS Instructors who volunteered this weekend will share some of the many memorable interactions that happened. 

All men have been endowed by their Creator with the unalienable right to keep and bear arms.  All we have do is protect it.

How do you sum up a non-Appleseed Appleseed? This was a promotional event which was held during the weekend of an open house on Saturday and family day on Sunday at our home gun club. We were allowed a portion of the 50 yard rifle range to use and we were determined to get the message to as many people as possible. The shooting benches were pushed away (Appleseeders don' need no steekin' benches!), a few shooting mats were laid out, rifles were provided along with donated ammo, and some appropriately scaled Redcoat targets were printed up. As the shooting was to be done from the regular firing line, the targets were scaled up to use at 50 yards. Glenn and Tom even brought out their beautiful CMP M1 Garands (in .308 caliber) and let those who wanted try the "finest battle implement ever devised". While there was much fun had by all, we impressed those who came to see us with the professionalism of the instructors and ability of the Appleseed program to produce rifle marksmen and I believe that the scheduled event in Bunnell coming up in a few weeks will be well attended indeed. We fielded numerous questions about the program, instructed lots of students of varying ability with just enough information to whet their appetites for more, and even signed up on the spot a couple of folks who did not want to wait to get home to register for the November shoot. And for me, it is always a pleasure to spend a weekend with my Appleseed brothers and sisters at a gun range, setting brushfires of freedom, to the sounds of Liberty in the background.
