Bad news for California.  The Civilian Marksmanship Program will no longer ship rifles directly to our homes like in the other free states.  Beginning 1/1/2014 rifles must ship to your FFL who will collect sales tax and charge a handling fee (which averages $100 locally).

Sorry, but CA ceased to be a "free state" some years ago. My advice to people in CA, CT, NY, NJ, CT and MD is "GET OUT NOW!!!"

I dont think anyone should move away from their problems. Work to fix them. Take an active part in your community and participate in the change.

Slim, part of freedom is being able to decide for yourself when you've had enough, when it's time to quit supporting the bastards and get to a place with like-minded fellow citizens.

I would never tell someone in a bad or hopeless situation to stay and hope that it gets better. CA is waging war on gun owners and they have overwhelming power to do so. They are confiscating guns from legal owners who have sought counseling. They are insolvent and doing nothing to correct the issue. But if you like that sort of thing, stay.

Now for those of you who value your freedom and realize that the USS California is not only sinking, but about to go  under, my advice is to swim has fast as you can to avoid the vortex of the ship going down.

Being part of the California gun culture and observing the voting patterns of a huge percentage of California gun owners . I would suggest people in free states who have achieved pro freedom legislation strongly encourage Californians to stay and tolerate what their voting preferences  have dragged us down to.
Slim you got it right !

Well Gov. Moonbeam did veto that last semi-auto ban, so Cali patriots are making some headway.
His reason for the veto was was spot on!

CO residents did not bail after the Mag ban.  They gathered forces, some were Appleseeders at the spear point to boot!  And they just got done throwing the bums out and are working on another to boot! Their results were rewarded.

To bad about the CMP situation in CA.  Keep up the good fight CA!

In the 1960's CA was a land of opportunity. Good jobs, a rising middle class, the best schools in the nation.

Where are they now?

Each should do as he sees fit. But there will come a time when outside rescue and escape are impossible. Make your plans. Build your lifeboat.

You honestly don't want Californians moving into states that have achieved legislative victorys !
They will bring the politics that elected what we have here !

You  think your getting allies in the political battle ! Your not !
If California gun owners would have the brains to use NRA resources we would not be begging to keep what little we have .
Recently we held the line on a law requiring every self loading center fire  rifle to be registered as an assault weapon !
The fact is we gained nothing and lost on 6 anti gun laws , including registration on every new long gun

Dare I say this has become a political thread and we're not on this forum to talk politics. I apologize for jumping in on this and contributing my own  :pop: to the mix.

I acknowledge the new CMP policy. That's it. Now I'm back to Appleseeding.  O0

Unfortunate news, and I got it one day before my new HR service grade arrived!

Well, that should at least keep me sated and buying CMP parts without FFL charges for the foreseeable future.
