NW Pistolseed?

At this weekend's event in Springfield, Prescott and I briefly talked about having a pistolseed in the NW.  Prescott suggested that we should consider having an instructor-only trial, and then see if we can expand from there.  That sounds like a wonderful idea to me.  I know at least three ladies who have expressed no interest in coming to a standard Appleseed, but who have stated that if we had a pistol version, they'd be there with their pink Glocks ready.

What do people think?  Is our instructor core up to running a pistolseed?  Is the NW interested?

jwebster

I'm definitely interested in a Pistolseed.

I recently witnessed the "beta" version of what may become the PistolSeed at the home range in Ramseur, NC and I can say it is excellent. Hopefully we can git the remaining bugs worked out and teach it to a group that can spread it all over the country to improve our draw and attendance numbers.  O0

I hope to have the beta trials finished and the ready for the world version out by November. So far the students have given it a thumbs up. Plus you get to see some really cool pistols in action and spread the history at the same time!

I'm not sure how far NW you were thinking, but I would enjoy attending if it were in Montana... :-) Not too much going on here in ND at the moment...

Yeah... MT would be great. :)

I'd attend one in Montana for sure!

Carlson

I would be interested in attending.

I believe that Pistol Marksmanship would allow us to reach more people than Rifle marksmanship alone.   Especially considering that most first time gun owners purchase a pistol first.

I'd be happy to host at the Fernan Range in Coeur d'Alene.  I might even be able to sweet talk a quasi-retired professional instructor to come as an observer/guest instructor/subject matter expert/critiquer???

Are we thinking one day or two?

Would be interested in attending one as well...also happy to volunteer the range at Columbia Falls, MT whenever such a thing comes to pass...just need a month or two lead time.

We currently do not have any AS's scheduled in March at the Coeur d'Alene -Fernan facility.  The pistol bay is covered and would hold 25-30 shooters, plus the heated classroom.  While March isn't always the best weather here, it wouldn't detract from the regular AS schedule.   March 15-16 is currently available, so if there is an instructor willing to come to Coeur d'Alene to teach any NW instructors, let me know and I'll book the dates.

This facility fills up fast, so the more lead time the better.

I'm new to the forum but have been to 4 Appleseed's and received my rifleman patch and am interested in the Pistolseed.  I am wondering what would the most prudent purchase be  to buy.  I was debating buying a ruger or getting a 22lr kit for my glock and I am wondering what the coarse of fire would be generally speaking I know you said you still have some bugs to work out and some things to iorn out as well.  I am thinking ahead and hoping very much so to attending a future Pistolseed.

I am very interested in a pistolseed in the NW somewhere.

For new shooters I recommend one instructor to two students for students with experience 1 instructor to 4 students will work. We put students shoulder to shoulder to prevent sweeps and we can observe their movements so I'm not sure how it will work in pistol bays. with new shooters a one day Pistolseed works best ,fatigue is a big factor in safety on a two day Pistolseed  tiered shooters are likely to make mistakes. The Pistolseed manual is being finalized at this time.    Steve

I wonder if one day would be best.
A 400 mile drive to Couer 'd Alene Is not worth my gas, or time for one day of shooting.

Is there a Master (or Designated)  Pistolseeder Instructor  willing to come to Coeur d'Alene?

Since this first one will be all instructors (right?), if it's just one day, we could slip in a KD on day two.  This would be pretty awesome, but Fernan fills up fast, so we need to speak up or hold your piece.

Pistolseed and KD? Now that's something I could get excited about.

Pistolseed and KD in one weekend?

YES PLEASE.

Niskibum

I'm in for a Pistolseed, and would help run the line for a KD, since I know there are some shoot bosses that would like some trigger time.

Hello... happy New Year, everyone!    Am  patiently waiting for a PS.      Kindly please keep me posted, EERT.

BTW, what is "KD"?

Don't plan on any Pistolseeds in the near future, best guess they are at a proof of concept stage.

KD is known distance. Rigorously applying what you learned at 25m at up to 400-500 yards.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

we knew about pistolseed in 2013 and it is 2015, did it get lost in committee like everything else?   :DH:
