Shoot this weekend and no shoot boss. Do we need to pull the plug on this one?

If you guys have a State Coordinator, you need to work this out with him.

If you have no SC, someone needs to step up, if there's any intention to get AS moving and growing in IA.

An SC can make sure instructors are trained, and when we have trained instructors, Red Hat and above, we can run Appleseeds.

It's pretty simple, when you think about it. Sometimes help can come from neighboring states, but no one in any state should count too much on that, since we're all busy.

However, an SC can persuade senior instructors from outside the state to come and do IBCs, and run shoots enough to get local instructors trained up to snuff. He can persuade them (I think) by assuring them that outside help will only be needed for a time certain, and then the state will be able to function on its own.

The above is just a suggestion... :)

And, yes, the one coming up this weekend, if there is no SB, needs to be canceled, and the pre-regs, if any, notified by email. Likewise, the host org needs to be notified, with apologies for the cancellation. A PM to scuzzy, to Instructor Scheduling, and to your Regional Coordinator should take care of it.

I just received an email asking if the Searsboro event this weekend is going to be held. There are 4 shooters signed up and the email I received said they wanted to attend too but they saw on the forum that nobody was signed up to instruct.

Let me know if this is going to happen or not.

A last minute cancellation is not good because I've seen times were a shoot was cancelled at the last minute on a Friday and I wasn't able to contact the attendees that evening. They then showed up at the range and nobody was there.

I sure wish there was more the 4.  There seems to be a few events in my state that are not covered,  so I am not sure where to go.
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value."   T Paine
