What a fantastic weekend.  We had full house on Saturday with 20 shooters (12 youngsters) that were eager to learn and shoot.  Positive attitudes were plentiful, in spite of the frequent rain showers on Saturday morning.

We hit the ground running on Saturday, and covered a lot of ground, ending with an AQT and significantly-improved Red Coats on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday started on the 100-yard range, giving the students a chance to make some adjustments on their rifles to make hits at that distance.  The instructors also pulled out some centerfire rifles (2 AR15s and an RFB) to give the shooters a chance to smack steel at 100 yards.

Thanks to all the shooters who came out and spent the weekend with us.  We hope to see you all again!  It warms my heart to see so many members of our future generation on our firing line.

Congratulations to Keith and Charlie on your Rifleman scores.  And since this was Charlie's second event, he boldly stepped up to take an Orange Hat as well.  Huzzah!!

Thanks to all of the instructor cadre for all of your efforts this weekend.  You guys made my job much easier.

And lastly, thanks to Fenton Lakes Sportmens Club for being one of our best host ranges.

And now...some memories....

Started out Saturday morning with two newly minted orange hats...

...and a large flock of students...

...all ready on right...

...all ready on the left...

...all ready on the firing line...

...After knocking on the door all day, Keith broke it down and earned his patch...

Charlie came in on Sunday to complete some unfinished business, which he did...

...and then took a hat...

...Whippet as Hezekhia Wyman preparing to sweep the enemy with his musket...

All those new orange hats could be put to use this coming weekend in Lapeer  (hint, hint)

Special thanks to Gibson for playing the roll of "Pale Horse". :DH:
