QuoteKSRA POP-UP MATCHES AT SALINA: Precision rifle shooters will have a blast with this. KSRA high power chairman John Heger has arranged for use of the computerized Kansas National Guard range at the Nickels training facility on Labor Day, Monday Sept 2. It will be a 48-shot match consisting of two relays of 24-shots each of pop-up targets at distances from 100 to 800 meters in 100-meter increments.

Shooters will be assigned to four-man squads for relay purposes of spotting, ready and stand-by purposes. Positions allowed will be supported prone from bags, sling, bipod, shooting pack, etc. This will not exactly be rapid fire, but will be sped up considerably from last year. Repeating bolt guns will work fine, with some load management. Single-shot rifles strongly dis-recommended.

Match Fees: $20 for the 48-shot match, additional entries may be possible as time and range capacity will allow.

This is approximately the Army machine gun qualification course. The computer raises the target, you shoot the target and the target is automatically scored as a hit or miss by the computer. Double targets at 400-meters and out (a hit on either side counts). Non-firing relays will police the line and act as Safety Officer for their assigned firing point. No alibis, but there will be a short sighting period for verification of zeros.

Empty chamber indicator mandatory. Ear protection and wrap-around shooting glasses or goggles, or safety glasses with side shields, are mandatory. Bring your own hydration and lunch. Targets are pre-set, do not have to be picked up at the end of the day, and scoring duties are handled by the computer. Late and early hits are not counted for score. Registration starts at 9 AM, first relay to the line at 9:15 and firing starts at 9:30. Limited to cal. 338 or smaller.
For more information, call John Heger at 316-209-5466. Pre-registration STRONGLY recommended.
