I'm cross posting this from the AR15.com KS Home Town Forum
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_8_44/530374_UPDATE____POP_UP_TARGET_MATCH_AT_SALINA_IN_JULY_4____UPDATE_.html

Contact John Heger at 316-209-5466 for more information. I am only sharing the info and not involved with running it.

Quote3-gun shooters and new AR-15 owners will have a blast with this. The High Power Rifle Chairman of Kansas State Rifle Association has arranged for use of the Kansas National Guard range south of Salina on Independence Day July 4.

This will be an 80-shot match shot in two identical stages each consisting of the following: 20-shots supported prone using bags, sling, bipod, etc.; 10-shots unsupported prone; 10 shots unsupported kneeling or sitting. Targets will vary from 50 to 300 meters. Limited to 223/5.56 caliber or equivalent ONLY!, nothing more powerful. You may use iron sights, optics/dot sights, or scope of any power. High power scope magnification will not be to your advantage.

Entry fee will be $20, with registration starting at 9 AM, firing to commence at approximately 9:30 or 10 AM. Contact John Heger at 316-209-5466 for more information.

This is approximately the Army qualification course, and it will be fired twice. The computer raises the target, you fire one shot at the target and the target is automatically scored as a hit or miss by the computer. Multiple targets possible. Non-firing relay will police the line and act as Safety Officer for their assigned firing point. No shooting coats allowed. No sighting shots or alibis. Empty chamber indicator mandatory. Ear protection and wrap-around shooting glasses or goggles, or safety glasses with side shields, are mandatory. Bring your own hydration and lunch. Targets are pre-set, do not have to be picked up at the end of the day, and scoring duties are handled by the computer. Late and early hits not counted for score.

NO MORE THAN 40-SHOTS PER QUALIFICATION COURSE!  This because of how the Guard pays for their targets. Some folks have been running excessive shots recently, and this will be monitored in the future.

JUST ADDED:

Three man "rattle-battle" team match after the qualification course firing has concluded. Each team is allowed a total of 60-shots per team at 60 target exposures in 3 and one half minutes. There will be some exposures of multiple targets at the same time, and at some point ALL the targets will be up at the same time. 60 targets and 60-shots provides for maximum of one cartridge per target for the entire team, not per individual. Each team must allocate number of shots per person and what person covers which targets to suit themselves. Again, maximum of 60-shots for the entire team, not per team member. Teams may also use a non-firing team leader to direct the fire of the team, but this is not required.

All the other general rules pertaining to the qualification course firing, including caliber limitation to 223/5.56, will apply. Cost per firing team member for the "rattle-battle" match will be $5 each. Shooters who do not already belong to a team will have the opportunity to form one with other shooters who are not teamed up already.
