[Swamp Thing]

OK, apologies for the tardy mod of the op. But better late than never.

Saturday started out with 2 fine young Americans getting off the couch and driving from the Detroit area 240 miles north to the Northland Sportsman's Club in beautiful Gaylord, MI. OK, so they stayed with family 10 miles south of the range the night before, but you get the idea. They made Appleseed a destination! A few hours later a gentleman appeared on the range and looked like he was about to started shooting from about 75 yards BEHIND us. IIT Ironsides to the rescue. After speaking with the guy for a bit he exclaimed "Appleseed! I've wanted to do one of these for years!"

So now we have 3 shooters. 

BTW, shooter number 3 is from Ohio, 300+ miles south. Gaylord is definitely a place to go in the summer. 

With the smaller crowd, the history presentations became more like a group of the "guys" just hanging out and chewin the rag. Closing words on Saturday became a discussion rather than a speech delivery. Bottom line is we have found more Americans who understand their duty to their forefathers. 

Sunday starts with looming clouds that never land a drop and the skies clear to a blazing sun. We don't care, we have riflemen to make. Unfortunately, we fall short of that goal. But the progress made was impressive and one young man definitely understands NPOA as shown by a hole in a hole in a hole in a hole in a hole during a carding the sights drill. 

We then send what were 2 fine young Americans home to the Detroit area as 2 even finer young Americans, eager to come back for more, maybe even a patch, maybe even a better country.
