I thought there may be some interest here...
I stumbled upon a postal shoot here:

It's .30 cal, 100yds. offhand at a "special" target. Target is printed on 8.5X11 sheet of paper and has a max of 50pts.
My excuse for not turning in the target I shot yesterday is that it was really windy...   ;)

Server too busy when I pulled it up.  Guess this postal shoot is pretty popular! 

Now, I've usually understood "offhand" position to mean no support at all; even a sling?

If NRA or CMP rules are being used that is correct. No support except  a shooting coat.
