Hi everyone, I bought my kids a Remington 514 youth model 22LR to attend an upcoming event in Oregon.  I installed a Williams peep sight on the rear dovetail.  Unfortunately now it shoots a foot high with the sight lowered as far as it will go, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what I should do.  A single screw holds a fixed front sight onto the barrel.  I'm wondering if I could somehow shim it, or if there's a replacement front sight I could buy?

Thanks for reading!

Understand that I will disavow any knowldge of this, I use a piece of beer can as a shim on one of my scopes.

Thanks for the tip- I folded a can over several times and it did the trick.

You shimmed the front sight of the 514? I would think for this to work and be reliable you would need a longer screw on the sight as well. That and some locktite.
