I think their lawyers whispered into the ears of those who run the paper.

hypothetically, something along the lines of: 

"2 people on your map have already had their houses robbed, in one case, they stole a firearm.  Should said  stolen firearm then be used in a homicide, you will be sued out of existence in civil court, especially now that state law forbids what you have done."
