The UN appears to be pressing the Arms Control Treaty toward passage.

Hopefully this satisfies everyone. The simple point is we had better stay awake and prepared to fight this thing or what were are about could become moot.

Traditionally any Treaty has to be ratified by the US Senate, but given this administrations proclivity to ignore the Constitution and issue 'Executive Orders' we really do need to keep an eye on this potential infringement
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." — George Washington

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." --Mark Twain (1835-1910)

"A constitution is not the act of a government, but of a people constituting a government; and government without a constitution is power without a right. All power exercised over a nation, must have some beginning. It must be either delegated, or assumed. There are not other sources. All delegated power is trust, and all assumed power is usurpation. Time does not alter the nature and quality of either." ~ Thomas Paine

willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

"United Nations flag SC UN Small Arms Treaty Passes While Media Sleeps

The United Nations Small Arms Treaty passed in its second session. The Media was silent over its passage.

According to the UN's press release,

Concluding its two-week session today, the second United Nations conference to review the 2001 Programme of Action on trafficking in small arms and light weapons adopted a consensus outcome document that highlighted the international community's renewed commitment to preventing, combating and eradicating the illicit trade."

Sure looks like passage to me.

"There's a great deal of talk about loyalty from the bottom to the top. Loyalty from the top down is even more necessary and is much less prevalent. One of the most frequently noted characteristics of great men who have remained great is loyalty to their subordinates."

That is not a treaty. A treaty specifies obligations for every signatory member and the penalties for not fulfilling those obligations, like a contract. Before the United States can be bound by a treaty it has to sign it, then it has to be ratified by the Senate.

This consensus document is just a list of goals that the signatories agree to work toward. It's more like a party platform in an election. It's not binding, it's just a statement of what they think is important and what they should do about it.

Yep, we need to focus on the REAL threats. This UN stuff is hyped up by certain organizations to increase donations. Not that we should pay attention, just don't get wrapped around the axle and miss more pressing issues.....O.L.
