I've been building a treehouse for my son this week and I borrowed a Framing Nailer from a friend (haven't used one in years).

First trigger pull I 'triple tapped'....couldn't help but follow through :)
Had to resort to Left handed nailing so I could bounce off of the trigger.
I'm almost finished with the project so will have to do LOTS of Dryfire to recover.

Ha ha ha ha. What a wonderful little anecdote. Thank you so much for sharing. It certainly brought a smile to my face, because I can completely understand how an Appleseed can change how you do things in your daily life. Thank you again.

I have an old, slow digital camera.  I use the 6th steps to firing a shot to take pictures with it and they come out much better.  Follow through is very helpful with that camera.

Yup!
When scanning long distances, say in an 180 degree arc, I learned to shift my NPOA with the binos in hand, works in any position.

Yup, six steps and SHF are great when shooting with long lenses, particularly 'offhand'.  I found myself doing it by habit on the last vacation, and it definitely improved results with my somewhat aged digicam (1st gen Sony DSLR).

When I work construction with my dad, I tend to follow through with the nail gun too... needless to say, plenty of extra nails end up in the board. ;)

Cameras have a similar effect... since the higher end ones go full auto if you follow through. ;D Appleseed really has helped me as a photographer too, no doubt about it! I almost always use the SHF, especially in standing, or if I am using a lens bigger than a 18-55mm. It just makes me more stable and I therefore get a better picture.

Shadowman, you COULD do a three point sling, I suppose.

Actually....
A modified Hasty sling technique does work well.
The camera strap is worn "baldric" style such that the strap rests on your left shoulder and the camera rides on your right hip.  This offers some protection when moving with a long lens.  To shoot the right hand takes a turn through the strap and grips the camera normally.  Bringing the camera to your eye should place a bit of tension on the strap and the left hand supports the camera under the body with the left elbow in tight to the chest.  The SHFs are almost the same as for a rifle with the major difference being which hand the sling wraps around.

At least that's how my grandfather taught me and he was a journalist from his time in Europe with 8th Armored until the day he retired from Progressive Farmer.
Fearful but resolute.

Getting this thread back on topic (despite my sister's protests ;D ), I know how you feel about shooting nail-guns.  Sometimes following-through is costly, and verifying NPOA is difficult when 'bouncing' from target to target.
But those SHF's apply to pretty much everything across the board: cameras, nail-guns, staplers, click pens, you name it!

Ah, but remember, the three point sling doesn't provide any support in position... ;D Just kidding.

This thread is epic funny.

I am a part time Photographer/Vintage camera enthusiast.
Shooting an old Rolleiflex or Hasselblad (you look down into the camera), you use downward tension on the neck strap to steady the camera.
I have a Graflex Press Camera (1940's) that you steady just like a rifle (support arm under the body etc).
Shooting Leica Rangefinders, I've always looped the strap to my hand or extended the camera forward for strap tension.

Lots of similarities....don't flinch, don't blink, don't jerk the shutter release, respiratory pause, NPOA
