Independence Day, what's on your Calendar? CANCELLED
« on: May 19, 2012, 08:49:18 PM »
Travis and I are going to be doing a BBQ this year, and thought "who better to share Independence Day with that our liberty-loving Appleseed friends?"

He'll be making his OMG burgers with all the usual fixings, and depending on location (fire regs) I may do a real old-timey colonial pudding.

Time and Date: 1PM, July 4 2012

Exact location TBD.
Originally we were thinking Arlington MA, but if the center of gravity of our available membership is out Harvard way, we'd be happy to move.
Heck, if someone can wrangle us use of Harvard's clubhouse that day (hint hint), we could maybe we could bang out some AQTs after we eat?  :)

Please post or PM if you wanna join us - we'd love to see you!

Gee, twist a Dwarf's arm. Sounds doable.

And Harvard has a picnic area with grates already set up by the pond. Don't need the clubhouse but I don't see any reason we can't use it. I'll send an email to the club pres.
Unhappy it is ... to reflect that a brother's sword has been sheathed in a brother's breast, and that the once happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?

Hillsdale college is suggesting that at every event on  Independence day folks make a provision to read the Declaration of Independence. I think it would be fun to have everyone at the BBQ or party to have each person read a paragraph or so .
That may guarentee interest since everyone will get a chance to read history .
Kaylee thanx for the PM on the above  O0

Sounds like lotsa fun to me  ;D

Kaylee, Travis, How should we RSVP for the July 4th celebration? I have to check to see if we have plans, if not, I would like to have the family attend. Mike

Mr. Freedom - that would be awesome! Just PM me when you know for certain, and tell me how many are coming.

Dwarven - do we have the clubhouse? :)

No problem MF

Everyone else  - if you're interested in coming, please send me an RSVP via PM.
We're ONE WEEK out, and need to know how much meat to set by. If we don't hit say six people by Saturday, I'm afraid I'll have to pull the plug.

Thanks, and Happy Independence Day whether it's with us or at home!

Sorry guys. Not enough folks to pull it off. :(

I'm afraid we need to cancel the event.

However, to all y'all - Happy Independence Day!
