It was a great shoot this weekend!

I was there Saturday along with Cowgirl Ducky, Tuna Fish, Scott1600, and Frank and Pete showed up mid day to lend a hand! We had 12 shooters on the line including 2 father-son, and 3 husband-wife pairs. Many were beginners or had not shot a rifle in a couple years.

The weather was gorgeous, sunny and warm with slight breezes throughout the day.

There was great improvement shown on Saturday from the AM to PM redcoats as follows:
AM: 400 - 0; 300 - 0; 200 - 3; 100 - 2; HS - 1
PM: 400 - 1; 300 - 1; 200 - 5; 100 - 4; HS - 4
They obviously gulped down as much of that water from the firehose of information as they could! O0

Shelley and Lee were rocking their bolt actions (and single shot) rifles! Making every shot count!

Brenden and Adam were our youth shooters! They worked on getting their rifles sighted in, and tightening up their groups. They persisted with great attitudes all day and received Luther Blanchard patches presented by Scott at the end of the day.

Scott1600 told ALL THREE strikes of the match and did an excellent job!  ^:)^ GO IIT4 ^:)^

Scott and Adam were both shooting well! I hope you will persist with your ROCs till you make the mark!

On Sunday the participants and instructors merged with Piru. Crystal scored Riflewoman  ^:)^with a 210 :--- :~ :--- and a good douse of water !@#) from CGD. We look forward to having Michael and Colleen back in March ;)

Thank you for a great job on Saturday .

Because of the sat instruction . We are proud to add Crystal to the Rifleman ranks of California .

She accomplished a 210 and then something over 220 .
Congratulations Crystal and welcome aboard .

I just want to say thanks to all of the instructors (and the other shooters) for allowing me to squeeze in late after church on Sunday. While, yet again, I came short of a rifleman score (195, 201 and 202), I still learned a lot. A trip to an Appleseed event is NEVER a wasted time. Additionally, I managed a pretty darn successful sling test of my new custom sling design!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again in March and punching out that 210+. This time I should have a pack of good friends in tow all ready to camp out and spend two days honoring the memory of all those that sacrificed to defend the freedoms we enjoy today.

Oh, and by the way Scott... Thanks for the impromptu quiz on safety steps, safe rifle and six steps to taking a shot. You put me on the spot a bit right before I jumped on the line and it gave me the chance to surprise myself by actually remembering everything. :) [pats self on the back]

I posted in the Women's Page, too, but thanks a bunch to all the trainers.
Scott, thanks for lending me your rifle, sling, & magz.
Johnny Applessed, thanks for the jacket.  Or, I guess I should say thanks to SavageShootr! :-)
Appleseed, you have a gift of encouragement.  Thank you for all your kind words & tips & techniques!
Ducky, thanks for the cool down ;-)
Pippi, thanks for inviting me last minute! :-)  I'm SO glad it worked out for us to go!

BTW, my next score after qualifying was 209 (I added wrong before  ???), but that's pretty consistent! Not too bad, I'd say! :-)

I am eager to go again soon!  I'd like to see my score up around 250 or higher!

How far apart distance were the two venues from one another?
Great job adapting and over coming, must have been flawless to not have negatively impacted the students.
Also, maybe I missed why the need to merge?

As promised, here are the photos, mostly from Saturday, as my camera-phone battery died around mid-day on Sunday... It is always great to spend these weekends with so many great people.  Thanks and hope to see you all again on the Appleseed trail sometime soon in the future.

Piru is about 25 miles NW of  sunland .
Yes the attendee's every one a (future Rifleman) and the staff sat and sun pulled off a very smooth event.
Oh the need to merge , it was because the SB at sunland did not confirm the dates beforehand  :-[
When we found out sat am ,AS was not on schedule RH gonejohnny said lets just do Piru  O0
The Sunland range did find a spot on Sat -- hence the merge on sun. O0
Nice to work with decendents of those who achieved liberty .

As we all know the only criteria to be an American ,Is the desire to live free!
Each person this past weekend ,were right there .

Hey All,

This is the older Adam from the shoot.

Wanted to say thank you to all the instructors and other shooters for a very fun and informative event!

I'm looking forward to more trips to Piru in the near future and hopefully making it to the Santa Barbara AS in June.  I may be able to draft a friend as well  @@)

I would surmise ShootinCritter would do the founders proud with a shiny new orange hat  ;D

One can picture Prudence and lydia with their friends smiling down , seeing their stories and sacrifices will be remembered.
