I have to tell you, if you have not gone to Lexington and Concorde and walked the ground it really helps in appreciating the three strikes, the Militia and what the British Regulars must have felt.  Last weekend, I went there for the first time since reading Paul Revers' Ride.  From Albany, it is only about a a 3 hour drive.  It gives an excellent appreciation for the terrain distances involved and how they used the tactics and distance of the musket engagements.  Contrast that to Saratogas Battlefield and finally Yorktowns battlefield and it can be very stirring.  The crowds are light this time of year, they even have one of the Cannons that was hidden at Barrets farm on display at the North Bridge visitors center.
