New IITs and IITs who have not yet attended a Training Day should strongly consider showing up on November 12th at the Atlanta range for a little training, refreshing, and quality control.

The path of the Appleseed Instructor is one of growth and constant improvement.  It has to start somewhere.  Trial and error (lots of error  :P) has shown us that many IITs who are thrown into the proverbial fire without direct mentoring and acclimation develop far slower than those that do.  Why?  They spend too much time trying to figure out nuances of simple things that a touch of friendly guidance can set right the first time.  Its that simple. 

So, in the infinite wisdom of Yellowhousejake, Bill3, and, of course, me, SPQR (Optimus Maximus), a program has been devised to set you off on the right foot.  "I have already worked several shoots," you say?  Great!  Come on in and lets polish your delivery and let Bill give you notes on quality control.  "I already know what I am doing," you say?  I bet you do, just like I did when I walked into my second shoot and put five people to sleep with a two hour Steady Hold Factor presentation.

Lots of things will be covered but what you need to know is that what we are going to cover is not content knowledge.  You are a Rifleman, obviously you can shoot.  What we are going to cover is methodology, teaching strategy, shooter evaluation, and relationship building.  Not the how to shoot, the how to teach, and we should all be better at that.  O0

IITs - get thee to training day.  Bill 3 and SPQR have some great stuff planned.  I learned a ton from Bill 3 on the one I sat in on as a Blue hat way back in the distant future...at least 12 or 14 months ago.   ;D  We need you to all* be under RED hats in 2012!!!   O0  If you've already been to a training day, you may want to check ahead to see if you could instead be useful in Evansville the same weekend.  Or Crawfordsville also the same weekend.  And Friendship the next.  Have you checked your calendar yet?  Do it!!!

Nope, Evansville is not forgotten.  In fact, HQ and I want to get with you and find a time when we can come down and qualify KD.  We hope to drag her uncles over with us to give them a taste of the Appleseed pie and sucker them into attending a shoot there but, to be honest, our real motivation is to bask in the wisdom of the Mudcat. 

I have a sticky note (yellow) that says, "Mudcat needs help in Evansville".

Just got my work schedule set for next month, and I am definitely going to this.  Sounds like it'll be a fun and worthwhile day.

Hey everyone, we will have lunch on Saturday for all of the instructors. We will have sandwiches (ham, turkey, & roast beef)  applesauce and some veggies. Water will be available, too. We will have a donation cup on the counter.

And thanks to Acutee, we will have soup for the instructor dinner!  ^:)^ ^:)^
