Fall in Southern Nevada, what beautiful time to be at an Appleseed.

The summers heat has faded and the the morning temperature of 70 degree's seemed chilly to people who had grown used to 100 plus degree outside temperatures and internal thermostats set to 80.

An elite group gathered to learn and practice rifle marksmanship and to revisit their heritage as Americans and Rifle owners. Although it was small group, one never knows the impact of an Appleseed weekend. It was one student at a Las Vegas Appleseed weekend last year that was so excited that he returned home and helped set up the first Alaskan shoot.

The three awake can rouse a town. By turning the whole place upside down.

The many awake can make such a fuss. It finally awakens the rest of us.

The event progressed in the normal fashion as the firehose of knowledge drenched the students with the fundamentals of shooting and the events of April 19 1775.

At the end of the weekend, all students had learned to shoot better and had a better understanding of the sacrifices made on our behalf.

April who has been demonstrating the persistence of a Rifle has gradually improved to the point where she shot the top score of the weekend at 202.

Bonnie learned a lot and was putting together some good groups  by the end of the weekend.

Our family that had to leave early learned a lot too and has promised to return for the next event.

Julio did well for his first time handling a rifle. Keep practicing.

The Coffey family returned and another generation of future Riflemen learned the skills passed down from past generations.

The seed of marksmanship and heritage was sown into good soil. The attendee's were charged with nurturing and growing that seed by sharing what they had learned with others.

Pictures to Follow.
