Chainsaw

Another great shoot with beautiful summer weather.  I can't get enough of these.  I had a tear in my eye when the flag was lowered Sunday afternoon.

We had 22 shooters at the Palmerton Rod and Gun Club and did they come to work.   Saturday morning we only had four people hit the 100 yard redcoat. By Sunday afternoon we had 4 hit 300yds, 4 hit 400yards with one target cleaned!   That my friends is significant improvement and is a testament to the can do attitude these shooters arrived with.

Charles earned the one and only patch on Saturday afternoon.  I lost count of how many AQTs he owned on Sunday.  Heck of a job Charles.

We had a truly exceptional group of youngsters.  Sam, Emma, Madison, Naomi, Ryley, Konrad, and Angelo were top notch and did an outstanding job staying safe, persevering and shooting the bejeezus out of their targets.

I even got to present Madison and Naomi Appleseed challenge coins for a 224 and 235 shot in their designated sniper roles.  Those were some nice targets!

A couple of Army buddies from Massachusetts and Tennessee used the shoot as a central meeting place.  I hope we made your trip worth it and I'm sure that if those .22 conversions would have held together you would have rocked that 4th stage.

John was seven rounds of 5.56 short at the end of Sunday.  Alas, there was none around to borrow...  what does a Rifleman do?  You put one round right in the middle of each redcoat and double tap the bucket just for good measure - that's what.

Something tells me that Jane and Dawne are hooked.  Am I right ladies?

Palmerton is a nice Appleseed range and I look forward to many more shoots there.  Special thanks to the membership for allowing us to pitch tents in the picnic grove!

Thanks also to Joe and Ang for helping out and to Mal for giving up some of his shooting time to lend a hand.
