Ha!  Putting five hundred rounds down range  was a great way to celebrate Wisconsin's new concealed carry law, signed into effect just this last Friday!

This was also our first shoot at the Dunbar facility and we have an invitation to return next July for a repeat performance.  Nice facilities:  clubhouse within 50 yards, running water, bathrooms, a great, shaded pavilion.

Great weather, that is, it only got excruciatingly hot for about the last four hours on Sunday.  Otherwise, it was warm enough so that we were sure it was summer, but not unpleasant...

Five shooters on Saturday, including a couple of intrepid ladies who were picking up firearms for the first time.  Zac was a repeat on Saturday, while Ray and Chad were first-timers at Appleseed who rode in on Harleys with ARs.

Ain't America great?

Ray and Chad also ended up with scores just a bit under 200, and since they took out their Rifleman Opportunity Cards they'll shoot free until they get the patch.  (Which probably won't take too long, since both were excellent students and shooters!)

Many thanks, again, to the Dunbar Club.  Bedford and I had a great time and look forward to repeating it next year.

It was a fun weekend, it is great to see shooters improve, and who appreciate our history and heritage.

Thanks, Mogget for making the long trip up, and to the range, who stepped out of their "comfort zone" and let us host a shoot there.

Thanks to Mogget and Bedford for a great weekend.
I learned so much.
I can't wait for my next Appleseed.

Chasing the patch is fun,
but my increase in familiarity with my rifle and confidence is amazing.

I too had a great time.  I did have a little problem with my AR/ammo, but Bedford was nice enough to let me use some of his ammo Saturday and I switched to Mogget's .22, "Blondie", on Sunday.

Mogget and Bedford, thanks for your patience and guidance.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
