It's been a long time coming, but today Governor Kasich signed SB17 into law.  Along with the common sense and hard fought Restaurant Carry change, there is also a loosening of restrictions on how handguns are transported in vehicles.  Since us Appleseeders spend a lot of time driving around, it's important to read up on the changes.

Remember none of these changes go into effect for ~90 days.

You can read all the details on the Ohioans For Concealed Carry website.  Here's the story about our day today at the Statehouse:

Congrats to you and everyone that worked tirelessly to get this passed.  It must be an awesome feeling to have been there to see it signed into law.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

WOW, you clean up pretty good. Was Mr. Crusty upset he didn't get to go?

Seriously, congrats and thanks for the info!

So how many more signatures do we need until you're on the ballot?

Both myself and Mr. Crusty are very happy with his new home.

I would like to say, look what one Appleseeder can do!  But I knew you before Appleseed and know this has been a long, LOOOONNNGGG drive you have helped spearhead.

Congrats on this, and congrats on what you will do yet.

Now, since we double every year, I expect to see two signing pics on two pieces of legislation next year!   ~~:)

Thank you for all of your hard work!

Faded red hat is GONE.  He has a brand spankin' new Red Hat.
GF was given the honor of receiving MS' previous hat.

Thanks MS for all the hard work you put into this!!

I managed to be at the state house for a couple of the hearings, and one of the committee votes...but was at Summer camp with my scouts when he finally put ink to it. Was hoping I could have been there as well  ::)

Wandered over from Indiana to enjoy a "2nd Amendment" dinner with my wife last night to celebrate the hard work of Mike (MeanStreaker) and the other dedicated Ohioans For Concealed Carry efforts in making this come to pass.

Hats off again! Thanks, Mike.   O0

Hey Andre, thanks for spending your money in the Buckeye State.  :)

The wife and I also went out for a celebratory dinner early Fri evening in a Class D establishment.  A great way to kick off a weekend of Appleseeding in Miamisburg!
